There are millions of options for supplements out there. In such a cluttered and confusing space, how do you choose the right supplements for you?
1. Ingredients
Supplements are not as regulated as you think. Look out for pharmaceutical-grade supplements. Off-the-counter supplements often contain fillers and are not potent verified.
2. The Coating
You can have great ingredients in a supplement, but are they degrading before you can even digest them? Water-based enteric coatings allow nutrients in each supplement to better enter your bloodstream and work more effectively.
3. The Process
Look out for manufacturers that follow strict standards and that are certified with the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) label. Supplements with this label ensure that the identity, purity, strength, and composition of their dietary supplements meet the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines. For example, the supplements at our health store adhere to both the US FDA as well as Singapore's Health Science Authority (HSA) guidelines.
Supplements should be accompanied by a healthy diet and lifestyle
Targeted supplements help you fill the gaps between where you are and where you need to be. But it shouldn't be the replacement for proper nutrition. Other areas in your life such as having avenues for relaxation and rejuvenation, incorporating movement into your everyday lifestyle, reducing mental and body stressors, as well as having quality sleep cannot be discounted just because you are on supplements.
Supplements are meant to support, not sustain. They're to help you achieve the best version of yourself.
